Restore security to Congress party leaders: Congress tells Govt | KNO

Srinagar, April 02 (KNO) : Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) Tuesday expressed grave concern over the withdrawal of Security of some Party leaders in Srinagar and sought explanation from the Govt over the move. In a statement issued to KNO, the party spokesperson expressed grave concern over withdrawal of Security and urged upon the Govt to restore the security of its leaders Shameema Raina, Imtiyaz Khan and others. Both Raina and Khan have also contested assembly elections from Iddgah and Zadibal constituencies in 2014 and needs to be provided appropriate security cover. “Congress Party is feeling highly concerned about the security of these leaders saying that the withdrawal of security will certainly risk their lives,” Spokesperson added and demanded adequate security for them The party lodged a strong protest against the withdrawal of Security of leaders and urged upon the Govt to restore their security to ensure safety of their lives and property, he said. The prevailing situation in valley is not conducive and withdrawing security cover of Political Person was very unfortunate and condemnable, Spokesperson said.(KNO)
